and the environment and diminishing external dependence on technologies, basic products and genetic materials. Embrapa is recognized worldwide to have decisively contributed to the success of the agribusiness in Brazil, which allowed the Brazilian leadership of several crops and agri-products production and exportation.
Networking through 47 Research Centers, 3 Service Centers and 13 Central Divisions, Embrapa is present in almost all the states of Brazil. Embrapa Food Technology Center, located in Rio de Janeiro, has been leading research on nonthermal technologies in Brazil and South America, mainly applied to tropical crops and regional products and is fully involved with international networks on the theme.

senaiSENAI was established in 1942 to train skilled workers for Brazil’s fledgling industrial sector. SENAI is today Brazil’s leading provider of professional education and industrial technology solutions in Latin America, and can be found in each state of Brazil, operates 797 units across the country.

SENAI in Santa Catarina State operates in 25 areas highlighting the industries of food, automotive, electromechanical, automation and information technology. SENAI/SC has 35 permanent units, located in areas to attend local industry demands. Provides professional education in different levels such as: Industrial Apprenticeship, Professional Qualification, Technical Courses, Under Graduation Technology Courses, Post-Graduation Courses and High School. SENAI/SC also offers consulting service in management, environmental, production process and applied research. SENAI/SC Food Technology Center is located in Chapecó city with 4 laboratories and 3 pilot plants which attend more than 580 food industries.
